  • There must be two (2) directors if an NGO wants to incorporate as a private limited company (PLC).

  • If the NGO is to be included as a Public Limited Company a minimum three (3) directors will be required.

  • A Private Limited Company can have a maximum of 200 members.

  • There is no limit on the number of members in a Public Limited Company.

List of documents required for NGO registration process

You will need to provide the following documents for registration as an NGO in Uttar Pradesh:

  • Memorandum of Association

  • Articles of Association

  • Name of the company for approval

  • Aadhar Card;

  • Voter Identification;

  • Copy of passport

  • All directors must have a valid driving license/identity proof.

  • Proof of address, such as a water bill, an electricity bill or a tax receipt.

Below is a description of the process for registering an NGO in Uttar Pradesh.

  • First, you need to decide on the name and type of non-profit organization that you wish to register.

  • After obtaining DSC, the applicant must obtain DIN-3 from ROC. The applicant must then obtain DIN-3 by ROC after obtaining DSC.

  • Write the AOA and MOA.

  • Register your NGO with the relevant authority.

  • PAN Card is required after registration of NGO

  • The NGO should apply for tax exemption under Sections 12A, and section 80G.
