How to Obtain an FSSAI License for a Dhaba/Canteen.

How to Secure FSSAI License for A Dhaba/Canteen

The citizens of the United States of America began to feel that they were spending too much time eating and had less time available for productive activities such as working. Fast food outlets opened up in America to cater to the new demand. They serve hot meals for people who do not want to or cannot spend time eating their meal at a restaurant FSSAI license required.

India has experienced the same thing. The Indian economy has grown at a rate of approximately 7% per year. The GDP has grown at an average of 7% per year, which has increased disposable income for consumers. However, it has also absorbed all their leisure time. Roadside canteens and dhabas are a big part of life for many people, who rely on them to get their daily food. These food stalls are the only option for people who travel or work long hours at their office.

Indian highways have a number of dhabas, or eating places that serve cheaper food than hotels. They also offer food to truck drivers, highway passengers and local residents. The quality of the food is something that customers are always concerned about.

Who needs a FSSAI permit/licence?

According to the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registering of Food Businesses Regulations 2011), it is now mandatory for anyone involved in the food industry to obtain a license or permit from the FSSAI. Anyone who runs a dhaba, tea stall or vegetable and fruit shop is required to obtain an FSSAI for license. FSSAI licenses are required by all business owners, including milk vendors, grocery store owners, wedding party caterers, canteen owners, hotels, restaurants and food processors. Transporters and vehicles that transport food products across the country must also obtain FSSAI license. FSSAI is under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Government of India. Its aim is to improve the quality of food served to customers and ensure their safety.
